Invisalign and Braces

“I DON’T SMILE IN PHOTOS”

“I HAVE ALWAYS HATED MY TEETH”

Confidence

Confidence is one of the most important attributes in successful people.

At school, kids who are most confident in sports are selected for school team and children who are confident in performing joins the school theatre production.

When job seeking, having a winning smile can make a lasting first impression during job interview. Insecurities about your teeth during job interviews may be interpreted as lack of confidence and interpersonal skills crucial to successful business meetings.

In life, a person with healthy and straight teeth are more likely to be viewed as happy, fun and someone who looks after themselves. Research shows it is much easier to score a first date on a dating site with straight teeth and then a second date after.

Health

Keeping your teeth and gum clean is so much easier when you have straight teeth! Crowded and crooked teeth traps bacteria, causing cavities/tooth decay, gum disease and bad breath.

Bite problems can cause damage to teeth, including: worn down teeth, broken teeth and fillings, nerve damage, headaches, jaw pains and even split tooth.

Invisalign

Advantages of Invisalign over Traditional Braces

Just like traditional metal braces, Invisalign moves your teeth into optimal alignment for a better bite and smile. However, there are specific advantages to choosing Invisalign over metal braces.

Invisalign aligners are removable and you can brush and floss your teeth as you did before treatment. Unlike braces no food particles are caught on metal brackets and you don’t have to thread floss between wires and teeth.

With braces, certain foods could bend the wires or pop the brackets.

Invisalign clear aligners are removable, you need to take them out before meals, and then eat anything you want. Just make sure you brush your teeth after eating to avoid staining your clear aligners.

Sticky and hard foods that can damage the wires or bands, or cause a bracket to separate from a tooth.

Foods to avoid with braces include:

  • Chewy foods — bagels, hard rolls, liquorice
  • Crunchy foods — popcorn, chips, ice
  • Sticky foods — chewy candy
  • Hard foods — nuts, hard candies
  • Foods that require biting into — corn on the cob, apples, carrots

Also, limit consumption of sugary foods and drinks while having braces to reduce plaque build up.

Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible and can usually be worn undetected. Smile with Confident!

Invisalign treatment planed starts with a digital scan of your teeth to produce accurate 3D images of your teeth, then a detailed treatment plan for the teeth alignment can map out the different stages of your teeth positioning and a custom aligners can be made using Invisalign’s state-of-the-art printing process.
From your treatment plan, you will know how long you can expect Invisalign treatment to take to achieve the straight smile you want. Keep in mind that you’ll need to wear your clear aligners for at least 20 hours a day to stay on track with your plan.

A scheduled six weeks appointments are required to ensure your teeth are moving into proper alignment. You will also receive your new set of aligners to wear at least 20 to 22 hours a day. The appointments are much shorter than braces appointments, as braces must be adjusted at each appointment.
