CEREC technology is a revolutionary system

Same-day CEREC crowns are dental crowns that can be designed and fabricated on the same day, using the advanced CEREC technology

  • Cerec PrimeScan – Well designed and perfectly compatible: Along with the high-performance intraoral scanner comes the new Acquisition Centre. Together, they form a highly effective and most comfortable system – with two individual software configurations, Primescan AC with Connect Software & CEREC Primescan AC with CEREC Software
  • PrimeMill – A combination of new electronics, software, motors and mechanical components contributes to finer resolution and enhanced dynamics. This results in outstanding restoration margins and surface details – for extremely precise results.

CEREC offers the convenience of completing a dental crown placement on the same day.

Unlike Same-day CEREC crowns, traditional crowns typically involve a longer process and wait time, where the dental practitioner sends your case to an external dental laboratory and has to wait a long period of time for the crown to be manufactured before placement of the crown.

CEREC crowns are milled from ceramic blocks using computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology, allowing for a single-visit crown placement.

CEREC Primescan Efficient & Precise!

The entire CEREC process can often be completed in a single dental visit, eliminating the need for temporary restorations and multiple appointments. By leveraging advanced digital technology, CEREC offers efficient, precise, and convenient restorations that restore the natural form and function of your teeth.

How CEREC technology works?

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) technology is a revolutionary system used in dentistry to create restorations such as dental crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

Examination and Preparation

Your dentist will examine your tooth and determine if a CEREC restoration is suitable for your case. If so, they will prepare the tooth by removing any decay or old restorations, shaping it to accommodate the CEREC restoration.

Optical Impression

Instead of using traditional putty-like impression materials, CEREC technology employs a digital optical impression system. Your dentist will use a Primescan Intraoral Scanner to capture a detailed 3D image of your tooth and its surrounding structures. This digital impression eliminates the need for messy physical impressions.

Computer-Aided Design (CAD)

The captured digital impression is then fed into a computer software program. Using this software, your dentist will create a precise virtual model of your tooth, customizing the restoration’s shape, size, and fit. The CAD software allows for accurate and personalized restorations.

Milling

Once the design is finalized, the CAD data is sent to a Cerec Primemilling machine. The milling machine uses a solid ceramic block that matches the desired shade of your tooth. With high precision, the machine carves the ceramic block, shaping it into the final restoration based on the digital design. This process typically takes around 10-20 minutes.

Finishing Touches

After the restoration is milled, your dentist will make any necessary adjustments to ensure proper fit, function, and aesthetics. They may polish or stain the restoration to match the color of your surrounding teeth, ensuring a seamless integration.

Bonding

Once the restoration is finalized, your dentist will use dental bonding materials to secure it in place. The restoration is carefully positioned on your tooth and bonded using dental adhesives. The bonding process ensures a strong and durable connection between the restoration and your tooth structure.
